Are You Ready to Sing Your Song?

Retuning to Speak Your Truth

When the pendulum swings and equilibrium falters, how is balance restored?

Me, I check within. I scan my physical body, my emotional body, my spiritual body, and my etheric body. Notice the places of resistance. A person, a place, an experience that no longer serves that I am ready to release with sound and breath. Perhaps some laughter or a lion’s roar. Just as a harp goes out of tune and it’s strings need tuning, so do I.

Now when my carved rosewood travel harp no longer strums to a resonant hum, each string needs a tweak, a turn, a twist until it’s restored, resurrected in a sultry hum.

Have you ever lost your voice or taken a misstep to lose your direction?

Has something triggered you? I have found in my practice that the things that annoy me the most, that piss me off the most, are often the very things I am ready to release. The energy hitchhikers taking up space in my body. And the reason they tick me off so much is that I am done with them, complete. When we release them to open new inner space, we can choose what we want to embody - joy, courage, radiant good health, kindness, compassion.

Our bodies are very wise. They often speak to us through sound activations if we go within to feel and listen. It’s why a song can carry us to a place of peace or carry us forward when we feel small.

The turquoise throat chakra bowl calls to me. “Open your throat”, she sings. “Speak your truth.” I don’t know about you but many of us were taught to be seen and not heard. Often, when we mustered the courage to voice our truth, there were consequences like embarrassment or shame. So we made ourselves small and silent or at least a bit less joyous.

I want my joy. Do you want yours?

One of my Tibetan bowls was given to me about 8 years ago. A blue Buddha carved inside this magical instrument was so inviting. When my musical friend held it in her hand and caressed the bowl with the wooden mallet, it sang and sang. Melodious. A delicious healing voice.

Try as I might, I could not get this bowl to sing. So I placed it with some instruments in my room. Occasionally, I’d pick it up to play. It wouldn’t sing for me.

One day as I was tuning within to see which instruments would accompany me on an upcoming sound healing journey, the blue Buddha bowl shouted “Take me with you. I’m ready to sing.” So I picked it up and Wow! The bowl that had remained so small for so long was in fact, ready to be heard. She’s been voicing her truth ever since.

Sometimes I feel her in my heart. Last week, I felt her in my gut. Where have you allowed yourself to be small? How have you stifled the wisdom of your own inner voice. Like my little bowl, are you ready to be retuned, to sing your song?

Like my little bowl, are you ready to sing your song?

Sound can be a compass to guide our way home. So when the pendulum swings and this crazy dance of life gets wild, bliss and balance are a tone away. And I don’t know anyone who couldn’t use a bit more bliss and balance in their life.

And please always remember I love you, love you, love you so much.

Be in Bliss.

Love, Pamela
